They played mostly on Friday nights from the 1950s through the early 1970s. The team had a 318-143-7 (.679) record there and a 58-game home winning streak, longest in college football history. The Dolphins joined the American Football League in 1966 and played their home games in the Orange Bowl through the 1986 season. Florida International University played home games there in 2007. The Golden Panthers played the final college football game in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 1, 2007 against North Texas. The U.S. men's and women's national soccer teams played matches there.
